If laboratory results from groundwater or soil sampling indicate contamination exceeding federal or state cleanup standards, responsible agency might require an additional risk assessment, site characterization or soil or groundwater remediation (Phase III). Remediation or cleanup continues until soil and groundwater sample analytical results are less than federal or state cleanup standards.
